John Armitage

John Armitage

John’s main interest is in uncovering the values that drive public attitudes and providing strategic communications advice to good people who are engaged in public debates trying to make change for the better.

He has worked on many major communications and behaviour change campaigns and regularly works with public relations experts and advertising professionals in strategy development and the detailed execution of paid and free media.

John cofounded Auspoll with Sue Loukomitis in 1999 and set up Qdos in 2010. He has served as private pollster and focus group researcher for the Victorian Labor Party over many successful campaigns.

John has worked for many Australian unions, public agencies and progressive NGO’s as well as private sector clients.

He has been self employed for almost all of his working life and is a member of a trade union and the Australian Labor Party.

Kristy Garner

Kristy Garner

Kristy is an experienced social researcher with qualifications in communications. Her expertise lies in drawing together high level academic framing theory and cognitive science with social research findings to uncover the values that underpin contemporary attitudes.

She uses her skills in communications to convert this into accessible and persuasive language.

Kristy has played a key role in connecting framing and values to language and message execution for a number of significant communications campaigns. She is regularly called upon to provide advice on how to concisely connect a values based proposition to a specific advertisement or free media message.
